Drinking water from Lake Kandawgyi
Water supply via artificial lake / Myanmar / 2015
Surface water treatment
Lake Kandawgyi is one of the two big lakes in Myanmar. The lake is artificially created; the water from Lake Inya is conducted to Lake Kandawgyi through a pipe system. This artificial lake was created during the colonial period to ensure the water supply of the city. In October 2015, an AL membrane system was installed here to treat about 2m³/day to drinking water quality.
