Decription
As part of a pilot project with ecological interest, the French embassy in the centre of Berlin has opted for greywater treatment. In addition to conference rooms, a library and offices for employees, the embassy building also includes living areas with service flats and two outdoor spaces in the form of a garden and a courtyard area.
The system, which uses the greywater from the washing machines in use, is designed for a daily treatment volume of 200 litres.
An internal tank system with two 2,000 litre clear water tanks was installed. The treated water is to be used primarily for watering green areas.
This greywater system within the embassy building is considered a pilot project for a more sustainable use of water resources.
