Project

Service water supply in Cape Town / South Africa

Application

Rainwater harvesting

Products

RAINMASTER Favorit, PURAIN Filter

Description

For the last city administration building, Cape Town decided to use the RAINMASTER F-40SC Duplex System. The innovative and ecologically interested architect decided in favour of the RAINMASTER Duplex System, particularly because of its low power consumption and the safe, redundant working principle. The water shortage in southern Africa is becoming increasingly threatening, so the local authorities are setting an example to the inhabitants with their own environmentally friendly and sustainable systems. In this construction project, the rainwater is collected from around 430 m² of roof surface and fed via two highly efficient self-cleaning PURAIN rainwater filters into six 5,000 litre tanks. The water is used to supply the toilets and urinals in this three-storey building. A saving of more than 40 % of the drinking water demand is expected for this building.
