Description
At 1161 m above sea level, the Berghaus Freiburg offers its guests a very special holiday experience. A newly built holiday home contains approx. 40 individual flats in dreamlike surroundings for self-catering.
Under the motto "Berghaus for Future", a wide variety of ideas for the sustainable use of different resources were implemented. These include not only the upcycling of old furniture, but also innovative building technology.
Hot water for heating is not only obtained from a photovoltaic system, but also from the drainage water from the 30 or so existing showers. This water is temporarily stored in a 1,800-litre underground tank, treated with six AQUALOOP membrane stations to produce reusable service water and is used not only for heating but also for flushing 45 toilets. Due to the entire new planning of the building, the integration of such a system including a second pipe and line system was an easy task for the builders.
