Project

New building Fachhochschule Jülich / Germany / 2009

Application

Stormwater infiltration

Products

DRAINMAX tunnel

Description

Within the framework of this project, several 10,000 m² of surface area were sealed with the aim of allowing all rainwater on the property to seep away. However, infiltration-capable soil only existed at 10 m below the top edge of the site. For the drainage of the 13,000 m² roof area, drainage was solved by an intelligent combination of green roof, trenches with the DRAIN-MAX tunnel system troughs and seepage shafts.350 m long DRAINMAX tunnel rows with 310 m³ net volume were used in total.
