Save water, reduce power costs and enjoy the peace

New rainwater module replaces the old technology

It is nice to hear rainwater instead of drinking water splashing in the toilet – because often buzzing pumps do not allow you to have pure enjoyment. Previously oversized pumps were installed in single family dwellings due to the absence of any other alternative and thus the basement and storage closets looked unattractive. It could be replaced by many contemporary pumps with a more economical model that produces less noise and also requires less space and power.

Exactly this is what was being sought by Ralf Stratman from Hückelhoven. After his house water system failed, he began a grueling search for its replacement. In doing so, his demands were not so high: The new equipment must consume less power, have low noise level and good quality. Andreas Franke of the EUT Haustechnik GbR from Oberzier recommended him to use the rain water module RAINMASTER Eco of INTEWA GmbH for his single-family dwelling.

The rainwater module is a fully automatic operating and monitoring station with pump, pump control and built-in mains water supply. The water can be used in toilet flushes, washing machine or for watering the garden. If not enough rainwater is stored, then mains water is automatically added.

The benefits of the new RAINMASTER Eco are achieved by using a pressure pump instead of a centrifugal pump – this innovative technology of  INTEWA from Aachen is the first in the world.

Ralf Stratmann was so impressed with the compact equipment, that he had  it installed by EUT. The old water system of the house was quickly dismantled and the new system was mounted equally as fast. "In comparison to other rainwater modules, the Rainmaster Eco can be easily installed by oneself", Frank is thrilled and adds: "I have just had a brief look in the user manual only once. The installation is basically very easy and self explanatory. "

The start-up procedure equally captivated him: "Most of the times, you may need up to one hour for completely evacuating the air from the suction pipe of the system with a centrifugal pump – but  with RAINMASTER Eco, only five minutes," says the expert. This power saving pressure pump works with less than 90 Watt output. The pump is so efficient that it can suck rainwater from a tank  positioned up to 40 meters away.  Thus you can easily overcome even tricky installation conditions.

The pump is amazingly quiet," says Ralf Stratmann pleased with his new purchase, and adds, "In the old water system of the house, we have given an advance warning to the  technicians not to get scared when the pump starts.“ A single setting centrifugal pump for house water systems  usually produces around  85 dB (A) of noise, whereas a high-quality multiple setting centrifugal pump produces around  65 dB (A). However the new system from INTEWA  produces a noise level of about 48 dB (A).  It’s like pitting a tubular vacuum cleaner up against a   modern dishwasher!

And in addition to this, the RAINMASTER Eco is relatively inexpensive: a high quality multiple setting centrifugal pump, without mains water top-up, would cost Stratmann about 400 €, owner of single family dwelling, however  the complete rainwater module of RAINMASTER Eco costs a total of 700 €. You will be charged somewhere between 1,000 € and 1,800 € for conventional rainwater modules, equipped with a multiple setting centrifugal pump. In addition to the higher sound level, these pumps often consume up to ten times higher power compared to the economical pressure pump. The RAINMASTER Eco consumes with 90 Watts less power than a multitude of refrigerators. The power costs will be reduced up to 50% or 20 € with respect to standby consumpton as against house water system.

With these benefits, it will therefore be sensible to replace an old pump, or an older rainwater module with the RAINMASTER Eco ahead of time. In every way Ralf Stratmann is thrilled. "It is always better if you're willing to change something out of idealism and then actually obtain a solution that makes sense economically as well as technically." The RAINMASTER Eco is already a kind of celebrity in his circle of friends: "If I am impressed by technology, such as with Eco, I tell more and more people about it and even flaunt the equipment."
